Our Saints

Catholic schools are often named after saints from our Church history to provide us with witnesses of faith, Christian life and service.

Our school is named after Saint John Bosco (1815-1888), an Italian Saint.

We remember Saint Maria Domenica Mazzarello (1837-1881) because she co-founded the Salesian Sisters with Saint John Bosco in 1872. The Sisters came to Australia and started our school in 1954.

The greatest lesson that John Bosco instilled in his students was to serve the Lord, at all times and everywhere in joy! This line from scripture has become our motto and the foundation of our school.

We draw on the example of Saint John Bosco, Saint Maria Domenica Mazzarello, and Salesian saints - Saint Dominic Savio and Saint Francis De Sales who lived the Gospel story in their lives and are part of our Christian story.
