Week 2 Term 3 2022

Welcome to Term 3.

We welcomed many new children into our community last week with 14 new Receptions beginning their learning journey at St John Bosco. Our Receptions entered brave, joyful and full of anticipation. We strongly believe that our solid transition program, Little Boscos contributes heavily to our new Receptions beginning their schooling journey as confident learners. I am sure the following Receptions will thrive in our community; Jude, Avraaj, Sathvik, Louis, Ganeev, Jasmirah, Saanvi, Anastasia, Lia, Sebastian, Ayok, Ella and Jugaadveer.  

We also welcome the following children to the St John Bosco community; Oscar and Nikhil in 3-4H, Aydin in 3-4E and Harshith in 5-6DM.

It was also wonderful to welcome our new cohort of Little Boscos into our community this morning. The Little Boscos six month transition program will assist in preparing the children for the 2023 school year. We look forward to walking alongside our Little Boscos and their families in this exciting journey. If your child is due to begin their schooling journey at the beginning of 2023, they are eligible to join our Little Boscos Transition Program. Living Learning Leading Perception Surveys

All Catholic Schools in South Australia are in the process of completing the CESA Living, Learning, Leading Perception Surveys. The surveys are a product of a collaboration between Catholic Education SA (CESA) and Curtin University and are focussed on examining the understanding of the vision and extent to which Catholic Education SA's Living Learning Leading Framework is taking place in schools as perceived by the children, families and staff. I strongly encourage all families to take five minutes to complete the survey. The survey provides valuable data for our lens of continuous improvement. Volunteers Induction

Have you booked into our upcoming Volunteer Induction workshop being held on Friday 12th August at 9:00am? If you are interested in attending please register your attendance by emailing elaine.cram@sjb.catholic.edu.au

School Disco

Our annual School Disco is just around the corner, on Friday 19th August in our School Library. Tickets are now available to purchase through QKR, $7.00 each child, which includes a drink and a snack. We would love parents to come along and assist with supervision if you are a current St John Bosco School volunteer. Please send your name and the year level disco you would like to assist with supervision to elaine.cram@sjb.catholic.edu.au.

Reception to Year 2 Disco:            5:30pm to 6:45pm

Year 3 to Year 6 Disco:                  7:00pm to 8:45pm.

Children will receive their entry ticket bracelet at school dismissal on Friday 19th August. All volunteers will receive an email during the week of the disco, confirming details of their assistance during the disco. I am sure we will have a fantastic night of dancing and fun.

Please note our Term 3 Pupil Free Day will be on Friday 9th September 2022. OSHC is available for families requiring care for their child between 7:20am – 6:00pm. Please note there is a charge of $49.00 for children attending OSHC during a school initiated Pupil Free Day. Please email Mirella to book your child, mirella.tsimikilis@sjb.catholic.edu.au
